Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on April 20

At 11.30 am on Wednesday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex & Nifty 50 were trading higher by almost 1 per cent each as the dollar rose higher and the IMF cut the growth forecast by almost a per cent, owing to the effects of the ongoing war in several countries.

The Asian markets also rose as China kept its lending rate intact while the city of Shanghai is slowly resuming its operations.  

The crude oil price has rebounded and is trading at $103 per barrel and the 10-year US Treasury yield rose to 2.927 per cent.   

Sensex was at 57,006.56, up by 534.41 points or 0.96 per cent while Nifty was at 17,127.70, up by 181.35 points or 1.07 per cent from the last trading session.                    

On BSE, 1,894 shares have advanced, 1,396 shares declined whereas 127 shares are unchanged.             

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are BPCL, Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, and Shree Cement. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are Bajaj Finance, ITC, Bajaj Finserv, ICICI Bank, and ONGC. 

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 29,249.52, down by 0.92 per cent. The top five gainers in the pack were, Meghmani Finechem (up by 16 per cent), Responsive Industries (up by 15 per cent), Chennai Petroleum Corporation, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals, and PC Jewellers. Similarly, the Top Losers include Birla Tyres, Nilkamal, Tata Teleservices, Tata Steel Long Products, and Vishnu Chemicals.  

Sector-wise speaking, all the sectors were trading in the green in the second half of the trading session with BSE Auto, BSE Energy, BSE IT, BE Telecom, BSE Healthcare, and BSE Oil & Gas being the major gainers on the bourses.
