Stocks in high demand: Top three Group A stocks that surged in the pre-opening session today
One of these stocks touched its upper circuit during the session.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened flat with a loss of 9.37 points or 0.01 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index further strengthened to 58,985.41, signifying gains of 182.08 points or 0.31 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals shined by 0.2 per cent, power weakened by 0.1 per cent whereas auto surged by the same quantum.
Meanwhile, RattanIndia Power, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts, and Triveni Turbine emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
RattanIndia Power Ltd, an S&P BSE Smallcap company, surged 4.82 per cent to touch its upper circuit of Rs 4.57 apiece. Last Thursday, the company announced the appointment of Rajiv Rattan, a part of the promoter group, currently a Non-Executive Chairman, as an Executive Chairman of the company for a period of five years with effect from October 1, 2022.
Mahindra Holidays & Resorts Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, rallied 3.96 per cent to trade at Rs 295.20 apiece. This rally comes ahead of the bonus issue of shares in a ratio of 1:2, for which, the ex-date is September 8, 2022.
Triveni Turbine Ltd, another S&P BSE 500 company, climbed 3.67 per cent to trade at Rs 222 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in its share price could be driven purely by market forces.
