Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today

These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 269.19 points or 0.38 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood at 70,968.10 signifying a gain of 267.43 points or 0.38 per cent over its previous closing. 

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, utilities rose by 1.43 per cent, oil & gas gained 1.17 and power rose by 1.16 per cent. 

Meanwhile, Jaiprakash Associates Ltd, Shriram Finance Ltd and NMDC Steel Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today. 

Jaiprakash Associates Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 7.63 per cent to trade at Rs 23.53 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces. 

Shriram Finance Ltd rallied 6.19 per cent to trade at Rs 2448.85 apiece. The stock rallied as the company announced its financial results for the quarter ended December 31, 2023 with the Record date for payment of Second Interim dividend for the Financial Year 2023-24 is Tuesday, February 06, 2024.

NMDC Steel Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 5.54 per cent to trade at Rs 61.90 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
