Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today

These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 195.72 points or 0.27 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood at 73,589.95 signifying a loss of 87.18 points or 0.12 per cent over its previous closing. 

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals rose by 0.18 per cent, power gained 0.06 and auto rose by 0.36 per cent. 

Meanwhile, Bharat Dynamics Ltd, Indian Energy Exchange Ltd and Craftsman Automation Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today. 

Bharat Dynamics Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 4.01 per cent to trade at Rs 1866.05 apiece. On Monay, the company annpunced that it will hold a board meeting on Friday, March 15 to consider payment of interim dividend for the financial year 2023-24. The company said it has fixed Tuesday, March 26 as the record date for the purpose of payment of interim dividend on shares, if declared by the board.

Indian Energy Exchange Ltd rallied 3.11 per cent to trade at Rs 154.40 apiece. The company achieved 9,462 MU overall volume, in February’24, marking a 15.4% year-over-year increase. Furthermore, the Ministry of Power issued amendments in the electricity late payment surcharge rules, 2024, requiring sale of URS power on exchanges; a move which will improve exchange volumes.

Craftsman Automation Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 2.99 per cent to trade at Rs 4254.85 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
