The Indian market emerged among the top bears due to broad-based selloff in majority stocks.

The Indian market emerged among the top bears due to broad-based selloff in majority stocks. The oil prices rise as Russia sends troops into the states of Ukraine due to which the economic crisis has been intensified and turned investors to trade cautiously. 

 

The sectoral indices which include IT, metal, oil & gas, capital goods, pharma, realty and PSU bank are trading in the red, down 1 per cent each. A sell-off was seen by the FII on Monday of Rs 2261.9 crore and buying by the DII of Rs 2392.85 crore was recorded. The markets are expected to see volatility as investors are watching the Russia-Ukraine encounter which might sway their sentiments to bet. 

 

The BSE Sensex index is tanked by 869 points after opening in and is trading at a level of 56,814.57. There are no gaining stocks today on BSE Sensex. BSE MidCap has declined by 306 points and is trading at 23,276.18 points. The gaining stocks today in the index are Gland Pharma (3.00 per cent), Rajesh Exports (2.77 per cent), and Supreme Industries (2.76 per cent). BSE SmallCap fell today by 467 points and is trading at 26,669.49. The top gainers are IndiaBulls Real Estate (12.28 per cent), Balaji Telefilms (5.89 per cent), and M.M. Forgings (4.35 per cent). 

 

The Nifty 50 index is hovering at 17,000 from morning and is down by 255 points trading at 16,951.30 levels. The top gaining stocks are ONGC and Bajaj Auto. The stocks that are in red today are Tata Steel, TCS, Bharti Airtel and Tata Motors, falling more than 2.89 per cent each.
