The NSE index NIFTY50 improved by 48 points and is trading at a level of 18,252. The Bank Nifty on the other hand is down by 146 points to a level of 43,822 level. 

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 553.54 points or 0.90 per cent.
