On Monday, the equity markets ended an extremely volatile trading session closing in red for the fourth consecutive session due to the ongoing Ukraine-Russia situation. Media and metal stocks witnessed profit booking at higher levels while some buying interest was seen in banking and financial stocks.

Linde India soared 10.93 per cent and closed at Rs 2996. The stock had logged a fresh 52 week high at Rs 3004.45 in anticipation of strong December quarter performance to be declared on February 24.  

Coal India, Hindalco, and UPL are the top losers among Nifty stocks. 

Equitas Small Finance Bank has been trending for its high upside of over 6 per cent. It opened at Rs 54.00 and has made a day’s high of 58.50.

Vodafone Idea Ltd (Vi), the Indian telecom operating company, rallied by more than 5 per cent today.

The stock is seen buzzing on the bourses on Monday as it jumped over 10 per cent along with a huge spurt in the volumes. A huge spurt in the volumes indicates strong buying interest by the market participants.

While markets opened flat, as of noon, S&P BSE – 500 declined by 0.2 per cent. 

Linde India Limited gained more than 8 per cent 

Linde India Limited, a subsidiary of BOC Group, UK, is primarily engaged in the manufacture of industrial and medical gases and the construction of cryogenic and non-cryogenic air separation plants. The share price of the company has jumped 8.55 per cent in the first half of today's trading session. Linde India Limited has entered into a 15-year agreement with ESL Steel Limited, a Vedanta group company recently, for the supply of 800 MT per day of oxygen and 900 MT per day nitrogen. The company has given 119.49 per cent returns in the last one year. 

All other sectoral indices except the banks are trading in negative with capital goods, FMCG, metal, oil & gas, pharma, down by 0.5 to 1 per cent. BSE midcap index trades flat, while smallcap index is down 1 per cent. A sell-off of Rs 2529.96 crore was seen by the FII on Friday and buying was witnessed by the DII of Rs 1929.08 crore.
