The equity markets have portrayed a volatile performance in the past month. BSE's Sensex shot up by 2,365.48 points or 4.48 per cent and NSE's Nifty zoomed by 643.35 points or 4.07 per cent.

This Friday is going to be one of the busiest days as far as the earning season is concerned as more than 800 BSE-listed companies are going to announce their results today.  So, earnings season is likely to keep traders and investors on the edge of their seats!   

During the last week, the domestic benchmark indices made the investors sit on their edge with their exciting performance. On the other hand, the broader markets underperformed as compared to the domestic benchmark indices. Sensex and Nifty gained 0.75 per cent & 0.91 per cent, respectively whereas, BSE SmallCap & BSE MidCap indices plunged 1.65 per cent and 1.04 per cent, respectively.  

Globus Spirits,Rattan Enterprises , Nelco, Nitin Spinners, HCC and  Trident are seen locked in the upper circuit while MSTC a CPSE e-commerce company headquartered in Kolkatta, that comes under direct control of Ministry of Steel,is seen topping the chart of small cap gainers on Friday. 

The share price of Shilpa Medicare jumped by 3 per cent on closing basis on Thursday trading session with almost all the gains recorded in the last 30 minutes of the session. Closing they say is the most important price action that one has to pay attention to. 

The past month has been volatile for markets. This consistency in the performance of paper stocks is what has caught our attention.

If we look at the results of KPR Mills, Trident, Faze 3 and AmarJyothi Spinning Mills one gets a sense that the sector is witnessing change in fortunes for sure.
