Nifty surged about 0.87 per cent at the end of the day while Sensex gained over 350 points. The broader indices too ended in the green.  

The initial hour was range-bound as the indices are resilient to move either way. Nifty, Sensex, and Nifty Midcap are trading flat

Nifty ended at day at 17,213, lower by 19 points or 0.11 per cent while Sensex tanked nearly 200 points. However, Nifty Smallcap ended higher over half a per cent while Nifty Midcap ended flat.

Sensex and Nifty are up by about 0.85 per cent each while Nifty Midcap & Nifty Smallcap surged over a per cent each.

Nifty surged about 0.49 per cent and closed near the day’s high. Sensex gained nearly 300 points.

Now heading into the last week of December, Nifty has surged about 21.22 per cent since January 1. A lot of stocks participated in this rally while some stocks did the opposite.

Nifty recovered about 97 points from its day’s low to close at 17,003. In the end, it slipped by 0.4 per cent while Sensex fell over 157 points.

Nifty ends the expiry at 17,072 and is up by 117 points or 0.69 per cent. Sensex surged over 350 points.

It has been a volatile expiry for Nifty as it made huge swings in both directions. On Monday, Nifty had made a swing low of 16,410

As the weekly series of December 23 is coming to an end, it will be important to analyse how the index is likely to close on Thursday. A thorough analysis of the technical chart and open interest is important to get an idea about the index’s behaviour.
