The FY22 expenditure was revised to Rs 37.7 lakh crore. Also, the FY22 fiscal deficit is estimated at 6.9 per cent of the GDP. In FY23, the fiscal deficit was pegged at 6.4 per cent of the GDP. Also, the FY23 Capex is targeted at Rs 7.50 lakh crore. FY23 effective Capex was seen at Rs 10.7 lakh crore. The SMEs and the MSMEs have continued to be under stress due to the successive waves of the pandemic, which have not only disrupted their operations but also, impacted demand, particularly in services. The extension and expansion of the ECLGS Scheme to Rs 5 lakh crore is a step in the right direction to provide further liquidity relief to these sectors. Further, the plans to revamp the credit guarantee fund have been announced to make it more effective. New railway routes have been planned, which would benefit SMEs as well as the farmers.

The benchmark indices at BSE and NSE tanked by over 1.63 per cent and 1.91 per cent. The BSE Sensex index had a major fall of 949 and is trading at a level of 56,916.00. The BSE Information Technology and Healthcare sector were the most affected ones and dragged down the index. Today the FII net selloff was recorded at Rs -7094 crore and DII Inflow Rs 4534 crore was recorded.

The Indian market ended the day in the green territory after witnessing the worst fall in yesterday's trading session. The BSE Sensex gained by 0.64 per cent to close at 57,858.15. Similarly, the BSE MidCap also jumped by 246 points to a level of 24,245 points i.e. up by 1.03 per cent. The BSE SmallCap index also rose by 231 points and landed at 28,869 levels up by 0.81 per cent.

The BSE Energy, Information Technology Sectors were the most affected sectors. Today the FII net selloff was recorded at Rs -751.58 crore and DII Inflow Rs 74.88 crore was recorded.
