Indices closed higher for the second consecutive day. Nifty surged about 1.49 per cent to close at 17,392.60 while Sensex gained around 875 points at the end of the day. 

The shares of Texmaco Rail and Engineering Ltd surged to almost 4 per cent on Thursday. The shares off Sugar, Power and Cement companies are on the rise in the afternoon session of the bourses.  

Angel One Ltd, one of the leading stockbrokers in India, has jumped over 12.3 per cent from its previous close of Rs 1,625 with its strong Q4 numbers. The stock opened at Rs 1,763 and has made its day high of Rs 1,835 which is also its fresh 52-week high.

 Atul Auto Ltd, PNC Infratech Ltd and Alphalogic Techsys Ltd are today’s mid-day movers. 

Notable large-cap bulls include RIL, Coal India, and Adani Ports. Nifty PSU Bank and Consumer Durables outpaced the market by more than a per cent each. Metal stocks have seen a slight decline. In terms of sectoral indices, Nifty Realty outperformed, surging over a per cent while other indices were in the green. Angel One jumped nearly 7 per cent. The company reported a 100.8 per cent rise in consolidated net profit.

At 10 am on Thursday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex & Nifty 50 were trading higher, owing to strong global cues from the US markets and a reduction in the 10-year treasury yield. Major companies like HCL Technologies, CRISIL, L&T Technology Services, Cyient, ICICI Lombard General Insurance, Nestle India, and Tata Communications are set to announce their Q4 results today.  

After gaining 1.02 per cent in the previous trading session, the rally in the broad market index S&P BSE Sensex continued today.

Activity in the F&O market for the weekly expiry tomorrow shows 17000 to act as support now. 

On Wednesday, reversing the previous sessions’ fall, the benchmark indices managed to settle in green. In the global market, European shares rose after a few positive earnings reports, which lifted sentiment while cautiousness over the Ukraine war, slowing growth, and rising yields monitored the gains closely. 

At 4 pm on April 20, the benchmark indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading higher as compared to the previous one. Sensex was trading at 57,037.50, up by 574.35 points or 1.02 per cent while Nifty 50 was trading at 17,136.55, up by 177.90 points or 1.05 per cent.
