At 11.30 am on Tuesday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading in the green as the Union Budget Day finally arrived.

   At 11.30 am on Tuesday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading in the green as the Union Budget Day finally arrived. The Sensex was at 58,695.38 up by 674.54 points or 1.16 per cent, while Nifty was at 17,531 up by 191 points or 1.08 per cent from the last trading session.   

   The top gainers of Nifty 50 are Sun Pharmaceuticals, Britannia Industries, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, and Tata Steel. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index include IOC, Tata Motors, BPCL, ONGC, and Bajaj Auto. 

   BSE Smallcap index is trading at 29,358.37, up by 0.44 per cent. The top five gainers are Andhra Paper, Vadilal Industries, Shipping Corporation of India, Paisalo Digital, and AAVAS Financiers. Each of these stocks gained more than 7 per cent. Similarly, the top five stocks pulling the index down include Venus Remedies, Subex, IFB Agro Industries, Vikas Lifecare, and 63 Moons Technologies.  

   The sectoral indices on the BSE were all trading in the green and extending the gains, as the Union Budget is being announced. BSE Private Bank and BSE Finance are looking strong, whereas BSE Auto and BSE Oil & Gas are showing bearish trends.
