Activity in the F&O market for the weekly expiry on January 13, shows 17500 to act as support now. 

The India indices closed on the upper side today after yesterday's fall. BSE Sensex closed at 59,744.65 levels increasing by 142 points. Top gainers of the BSE Sensex index include Asian Paints, TCS, Nestle India, ICICI Bank, Reliance, and UltraTech Cement. The stocks that were seen in red today on the index were, Hinduja Global Solutions, Dishman Carbogen Amcis, GMR Infrastructure, and Shree Renuka Sugars.

The domestic equity markets started 2022 on a positive note with most of the indices moving in upward direction this week. Despite the surge in covid cases in India and globally, the markets moved higher as the severity of Omicron variant seems to low. Sensex and Nifty inched up by 2.6 per cent each during the week.

Nifty recovered from its low of 17,704 and gained about 120 points. In the end, Nifty closed the week at 17,812, up by 0.38 per cent while Sensex gained around 160 points.
