Even as benchmark domestic indices Sensex and Nifty took a dip on Monday, BSE SmallCap index outperformed gaining by 0.46 per cent or 115.13 points to close at 25111.36.
Uttam Sugar Mills, NELCO, ISGEC Heavy Engineering, Avadh Sugar & Energy, Alankit Ltd and Vishal Fabrics were some of the top index gainers.
On the other hand, Banco Products (India), Thyrocare Technologies, NCL Industries, Tamil Nadu Newsprint & Papers, Shoppers Stop and Jaiprakash Power Ventures were some of the worst performing stocks in the BSE SmallCap index during today's trading session.
Top index contributors were Laurus Labs gaining by 3.93 per cent, National Aluminum Co. Ltd up by 9.06 per cent, Gujarat Gas rose by 4.50 per cent, Trent Ltd was up by 1.94 per cent, etc.
List of volume toppers includes Radico Khaitan increasing by 1.30 per cent, Thyrocare Technologies plunged by 9.73 per cent, Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) gained by 2.28 per cent, Jaiprakash Power Ventures tumbled by 5 per cent, etc.
