ICICI Bank jumps despite negative numbers

ICICI Bank, one of India's largest private sector banks, posted Q4FY18 and full year results on Monday. The NII for the quarter rose by 1 per cent in Q4FY18 vs Rs. 5,962 crore in Q4FY17. This minimal growth was largely due to higher interest expenses, which increased by 8 per cent yoy. The interest income for the quarter rose by 5.1 per cent yoy.


China fires back with US$50 billion Tariff

The fear of trade war between the two largest economies has grappled markets across the globe. In a retaliatory measure China imposed tariff on 106 products ranging from soya to cars and aircraft. This was in response to Trump administration's proposed hike in import tariffs on hi-tech goods originating from China announced on Tuesday.

Post PNB scam, the banking sector has witnessed many consequences impacting the credit flow in the Indian economy. The ministry of Finance received many representations on easing the grip on banks and providing alternatives to LoUs.The PNB scam of Rs. 13,000 crore has forced RBI to tighten the grip on PSU banks and directed to identify similar instances. Further, the banks were also directed not to issue LoU’s and guarantees.

The aftermath of PNB scam has created various shifts in banking system and regulators have tightened the grip on banks across the board. In a new resolution shared by RBI, it has banned banks for issuance of LoU (Letter of Undertaking) for availing buyers credit.

The public issue of Karda construction Limited, a Nashik-based real estate developer, will open on 16-03-2018 and closes on 21-03-2018.  The minimum market lot of the issue is 80 shares for the price range of Rs. 175-Rs. 180 per share with face value of Rs. 10 per share. The company will be listed on BSE and NSE both. The issue comprises of public issue of 43,00,000 shares out of which 23,00,000 will be fresh issue and 20,00,000 shares will be offer for sale by the promoters. The promoter holding in the company will come down to 45.5 per cent post issue versus 76 per cent pre issue

Bandhan Bank IPO

The issue comprises of fresh issue and an offer for sale of 11.9 crore shares of the promoter company BFSL (Bandhan Financial Services Ltd) worth Rs 4473 crore. The price band fixed for the issue is Rs 370-Rs 375 per share with face value of Rs.10 per share. The minimum lot size of the issue is 40 shares and will be listed on the BSE and NSE

Q3FY18 Results: Centum Electronics posts weak performance

Centum Electronics posted its Q3FY18 results wherein overall numbers were subdued across the board. Total revenue for the quarter declined by 26 per cent yoy and 17 per cent qoq to Rs.74 crore as against Rs. 100 crore in the previous year's corresponding quarter and Rs. 90 crore in the previous quarter

SpiceJet flies high with robust quarterly performance

SpiceJet posted robust quarterly performance with strong revenue growth and healthy operational performance. The total revenue for the quarter rose by 29.1 per cent yoy and 15 per cent qoq to Rs. 2,068 crore in Q3FY18 as against Rs. 1,602 crore in previous year corresponding quarter. This was largely due to increase in capacity by 14 per cent.

AIA Engineering posts subdued Q3FY18

AIA Engineering reported subdued performance in Q3FY18 due to declining revenues and contracted margins for the quarter. The consolidated revenue for the quarter declined by 5.7 per cent yoy and rose 2.3 per cent qoq to Rs. 572 crore for Q3FY18 as compared to Rs. 608 crore in previous year corresponding quarter.

Budget 2018: Big boost of agricultural and rural economy

In the starting commentary finance ministry announced major relief for the farmers. The government increase in MSP of kharif crops by 1.5 times the cost of produce of the crops. It has earlier increased the MSP of rabi crops by similar percentage. This comes in line with the governments aim at doubling the farmers income by FY2022.

IMF: World economy upbeat, India to grow at a faster pace of 7.4 per cent

India soon to lead as the fastest growing economy in the world followed by China. IMF in their latest world economic outlook reiterated India’s growth forecast for 2018 at 7.4 per cent and 7.9 per cent for 2019. While, China is expected to grow at 6.8 per cent and 6.4 per cent for 2018 and 2019, respectively.
