Q1FY21 results: GACL net profit falls by 80 per cent YoY
Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd (GACL), one of the largest producers of Caustic Soda in India, announced its quarterly results on August 11, 2020. The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 31.81 crore for Q1FY21, which declined by 79.97 per cent YoY, as compared to Q1FY20 when it reported Rs 158.8 crore.
The consolidated net sales reported in Q1FY21 came in at Rs 469.61 crore, which declined by 37.27 per cent YoY from Rs 748.57 crore in Q1FY20. At EBITDA level, the company stood at Rs 78.45 crore in Q1FY21 that decreased by 68.88 per cent YoY. For Q1FY20, it posted an EBITDA of Rs 252.09 crore.
EBITDA margin as of Q1FY21 was at 16.71 per cent that declined by 16.97 per cent YoY. The net profit margin in Q1FY21 came in at 6.77 per cent, which declined by 14.44 per cent YoY. The net profit margin in Q1FY20 was at 21.21 per cent.
The company also addressed about the progress of ongoing projects, which has been adversely affected due to COVID-19 pandemic which could in turn result in the delay in the completion to the extent of 4 to 6 months.
The share closed with a decline of 1.79 per cent at Rs 336.6 in today’s session. The share has a 52 week high value of Rs 487.35 and a 52 week low of 165.00 on BSE.
