Indices Close On A Flat Note

The Indian markets witnessed trade in the narrow range till closing-session, as Indices saw some stock specific action on today’s trading session. As a result the Nifty closed flattish note with nominally downward bias by 2 points at 6815 and Sensex was 6 points lower at 22758.

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the positive side as the day ended with 1771 shares in green and 1641 shares in the red zone.

Top Nifty Gainers: BPCL gained 4.09% in today’s trade, followed by Lupin, L & T, HDFC Bank and GAIL.

Top Nifty Losers: Sesa Sterlite closed the day lower by 3.9%, followed by Wipro, Jindal Steel, PNB and IndusInd Bank.

Most of the sectoral indices closed on a mixed note. Capital Goods and Oil & Gas witnessed superb up move by 147 points and 112 points respectively. Bankex, Consumer Durables and Heath Care witnessed some positive trade. However Mid-Caps and Small-Caps were closed in the negative territory. 

All the major Asian markets closed the day on a mixed note. Hang Seng closed down by 29 points, whereas Nikkei index closed down by 123 points. Shanghai Composite, Taiwan and Kospi also closed in the positive territory. 

Buzzer: BPCL was up by more than 4.09% on the bourses today and closed near the technical level of Rs 480. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch the Rs 500/515 mark in the next few sessions.

Nifty Future stuck around 6820-6835 level in current scenario. The level of 6850 will be the major resistance on the higher side and the level of 6770 will be the vital support for further trade.
