Indices Scaling New Peaks
The Indian markets witnessed superb rally in today’s session. The optimism came from the global sentiments. Hang Seng market has shown good recovery by 189 points. Apart from this, IT sector closed to break all the major hurdles, up by 213 points. The Nifty index ended up by 27 points at 7795 and Sensex closed up by 121 points at 26147.
The advance-decline ratio on NSE was on the negative side as the day ended with 1580 shares in green and 2001 shares in the red zone.
Top Nifty Gainers: Infosys gained 3.58% in today’s trade, followed by BPCL, Hindalco, Bank of Baroda and Wipro.
Top Nifty Losers: Ambuja Cement closed the day lower by 3.25%, followed by UltraTech Cement, ACC, IDFC and Kotak Mahindra.
Most of the sectoral indices closed on a positive note. IT witnessed massive up move by 213 points. Bankex, Auto and Consumer Durables also saw positive momentum of around 50 points each. However, Metal, Health Care and Small-cap sector remained in negative territory.
All the major Asian markets closed the day on a mixed note. Hang Seng closed up by 189 points, whereas Taiwan Index and Strait Times Index closed up by 58 points and 23 points respectively. Nikkei closed in the negative territory.
Buzzer: Infosys was up by more than 3.5% on the bourses today and closed near the technical level of Rs 3350. If the stock opens above this level, it may touch the Rs 3370/3390 mark in the next few sessions.
Nifty Future sustained around the technical level of 7800. Going ahead, the level of 7845 and 7860 are the major hurdles.
