Bear Leads, Indices on Lower End

The Indian stock markets continued with a profit booking scenario in today’s session. The sensex witnessed some consolidation trade till mid-session. However, the benchmarks did not managed to recovered, and closed around lower level. Capital Goods and Oil & Gas index saw some downward momentum around 75 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps were closed in negative territory. Nifty was down by 44 points and closed at 8712 level, while Sensex was down by 134 points and closed at 28709 level. 

The advance-decline ratio on NSE was a negative side, as the day ended with 1256 shares in green and 1594 shares in the red zone.

Top Nifty Gainers: Bharti Airtel closed the day higher by 7.13 per cent, followed by Coal India, M&M, NMDC and Lupin.

Top Nifty Losers: HDFC closed the day lower by 4.09 per cent, followed by DLF, Jindal Steel, Hindalco and HUL.

The sectoral indices were negative in today’s session. Banking stocks showed no sign of recovery, down by 107 points. Capital Goods and Oil & Gas stocks also were down around 75 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps closed in negative territory, down by more than 30 points. However, Consumer Durables and Auto index remain in green note, up by 122 points and 71 points respectively.   

The Asian markets were surrounded under the selling pressure. The Hang Seng market dives by 226 points. Nikkei market was down by 125 points and the Taiwan and Shanghai Composite closed with some marginal loss.   

Buzzer: DLF was down by more than 4.04 per cent on the bourses today and closed down at the technical level of around Rs 145. If the stock opens below this level, it may touch Rs 140/130 mark in the next few sessions.

Nifty Futures witnessed bearish concealing swallow trend in intraday chart, after it broke 8800 mark, indicating more downward momentum.
