L&T group wins orders worth Rs 10102 crore in May and June 2015
Larsen & Toubro group (L&T) having revenue of over USD 15 billion, is an Indian multinational organization founded in 1938. The company is engaged in major businesses like technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services. On Monday, 29th June 2015 L&T announced BSE that, the Construction arm of L&T has won orders worth Rs 2035 crores across various business segments in June 2015. In a clarification they informed that, their building & factories business segment has secured new orders for the construction of office spaces including add-ons in Hyderabad. Further, the transportation infrastructure business segment has won a major EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) order for construction of 109.54 km of a four-lane dual carriage way of the Solapur, Maharashtra - Bijapur, Karnataka road. The company has to construct 46.23 km of service road, six flyovers, two railway over bridges, three major bridges, forty-nine minor bridges and twenty-seven underpasses.
Earlier announcement to BSE On 24th June 2015, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T, has bagged an offshore contract valued at Rs 2715 crores, for the Bassein Development Project from the ONGC. On 22th June 2015 L&T’s Metallurgical and Material Handling (L&T-MMH) business has secured new orders worth Rs 1507 crores across various verticals. On 19th June 2015, L&T construction has won orders worth Rs 2278 crores. The Power Transmission and Distribution segment won orders worth Rs 1258 crores in the international markets and The Heavy Civil Infrastructure segment won orders worth Rs 1020 crores.
On 3rd June 2015, The Ministry of Defence for the design and construction of a floating dock for the Indian Navy (FDN) awarded a contract valued Rs 468 crore to L&T. The floating dock is expected to significantly enhance the support infrastructure of the navy for docking of warships and submarines for repairs and refits. And on 1st June 2015, L&T construction has won orders worth Rs 1099 crores across various business segments in May 2015. The Power Transmission and Distribution segment bagged orders worth Rs 517 crores in both the international and domestic markets. The Building and Factories segment secured an order worth Rs 300 crores. And also Water Smart World & Communication segment secured orders worth Rs 282 crores.
As L&T has won orders valued Rs 10102 crore in May and June, it is a good company to watch out for in future. The kind of order book has increased for L&T, one can clearly see good traction in overall capital goods industry and specifically for L&T.
