Overnight Digest – Stocks to look out for on May 25

The stocks which could witness significant movement on May 25 are Gail India Ltd., Tata Power Generation, Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services, Tech Mahindra Ltd., Tata Steel Ltd.

a) Gail India Ltd.: Company on May 25 is expected to declare its Q4FY16 results. With major competitor Gujarat State Petronet Limited (GSPL) posting weak numbers,the results of GAIL India are expected to be timid as the prices of oil for the last 3 months have remained low.

b) Tata Power Generation: Tata Power Generation has increased its capacity by 5 per cent this year. The increased capacity is likely to increase the volume of the company. The company, together with all its subsidiaries, has installed a generation capacity of 9184 MW (as of May 2016).

c) Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services: Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services, on Tuesday announced that it will raise a debt capital of Rs 1,000 crore with a public issue of non-convertible debentures (NCDs). Funds raised will be used for onward lending, financing, refinancing the existing indebtedness of the company, towards working capital and for general corporate purposes.

d) Tech Mahindra Ltd.: Tech Mahindra post market hours on May 24 declared its Q4 results. The results have met street estimates, and net profits for this quarter are up by 18 per cent, and it is more likely that the stock may react to the results on Wednesday.

e) Tata Steel Ltd.: The Sensex stock is expected to declare its Q4 results on May 25. The company is already in a tussle over the sale of its UK loss making assets, and it could be interesting to see whether the results add to the worry or vice – versa.
