Indices end with nominal gains

The Indian markets witnessed choppy trade after mid-market session. Sectors like Healthcare, Capital Goods and Bankex provided some strength; on the other hand IT ended on a negative note. The Nifty ended with gain of 6 points at 8094 and Sensex was up by 5 points at 26402.

The advance-decline ratio ended on the positive side in the closing session. On the NSE, 1830 shares closed in green, while 781 shares ended the day in red.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Aurobindo closed the day with the top gains on the NSE, up by 3.2%. Ultratech Cement, Bank of Baroda, Dr. Reddy's Labs and SBI were the others that ended higher.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: TCS was the top loser, down by 3.03%, followed by Infosys, Zee Entertain, Asian Paints and IndusInd Bank.

Most of the indices ended in the green. Healthcare was the top gainer for the day, up by 300 points, followed by Consumer Durables and Capital Goods, which were up by 199 points and 232 points. Bankex and Oil & Gas also saw good strength, and were up more than 100 points each. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps were up in the range of 90 points to 171 points each.

In the Asian markets, the Nikkei ended higher by 357 points. On the other hand, the Hang Seng closed down by 31 points. The Shanghai Composite and KOSPI ended on a nominal positive note.

Buzzers: Aurobindo Pharma. The stock surged by 3.2 percent to close above the 720 mark. If it continues with current scenario, it may trade above 750 mark soon.   

The Nifty Future closed near the pivotal level which is 8100. Tomorrow’s opening will decide further momentum.
