Staying with changing times: SBI rebrands website

India’s largest commercial bank State Bank of India, undertook a massive rebranding exercise of its official website, staying in sync with the changing dynamics of the banking industry in the country.

SBI declared in an official release that the new domain name bank.sbi is the highest domain protocol known as generic top-level domain (gTLD). M.K. Rekhi, General Manager-Social Media said, "The SBI group has several businesses. For those wanting to do banking or want to know about the bank, it is easier to type out www.bank.sbi."

This change makes SBI, the first banking organisation in India to use a gTLD for its online presence and provide an exclusive experience of assurance and security to its customers in this digital age.

The new version of website is also user-friendly and looks more appealing to the eyes. SBI has renewed its focus on customer service initiatives to improve the experience of each and every customer visiting its website, and at the same time be secure from cyber threats.

Its stock was trading at Rs 270.10 up 0.25 per cent on NSE.
