Markets start a week on positive mood

Equity markets in India traded positive on Monday. Importantly, Nifty was able to sustain the crucial level of 9300.

At the closing bell, Nifty ended at 9314 with a gain of 28 points and BSE Sensex closed at 29926, increment of 67 points. On the NSE, 33 shares closed in green, while 18 shares ended the day in red.

All indices closed in green except Capital Goods, FMCG, Metals and Oil & Gas. Auto index witnessed an increase of 155 points, Bankex also rose 202 points. IT went up by 127 points. Capital Goods, FMCG and oil & Gas shredded around 50 points each. Mid-cap index was up by 74 points and small-cap also gained 106 points.

Asian markets traded mixed on Monday. Shanghai had fallen by 0.79 per cent, Hang Seng declined 0.41 points. Nikkei got boosted by 2.31 per cent. European markets were trading with mixed sentiments at the time of filing this copy at 1600 hours IST.

Derivative Analysis

Nifty Future closed in positive at 9345. Going ahead, 9385/9286 will be the immediate support levels.
