BHEL commences commercial operation of 800 MW plant at Yeramarus
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), the Government of India owned engineering and manufacturing company, today started commercial operation of its thermal power plant at Yeramarus thermal power station under Raichur Power Corporation.
The power plant has a capacity of 800 MW units and is a highest rating coal-based super-critical thermal power plant. It is located at Yeramarus in Raichur district of Karnataka.
Post the announcement, BHEL’s stock was trading at Rs 165.7, up by Rs 4.3 or 2.7 per cent from the previous close of Rs 161.40. The stock touched day’s high and low of Rs 167.5 and Rs 161.45, respectively, and closed at Rs 166.45.
BHEL is an engineering and manufacturing enterprise based in India. Its products and services include air pre-heaters, capacitors, compressors, turbo-generators, energy meters, pumps, fans, solar lanterns, switch-gears, insulators, fuel cells and many more. The company has 15 manufacturing divisions, four power sector regional centres, eight service centres, five regional offices, four overseas offices and over hundred project sites spread all over India.
