Markets erase gains in the second half
Indian capital markets witnessed a roller-coaster ride on the last day of the week. Markets started the morning session in positive mood, but soon thereafter in the second half, markets erased all the day’s gains. Nifty was able to hold the level of 9100.
At the closing bell, Nifty ended at 9120 with a loss of 16 points and BSE Sensex closed at 29360, a decline of 62 points. On the NSE, 15 shares closed in the green, while 36 shares ended the day in the red.
All indices closed in the red, except Bankex, Capital Goods and Oil & Gas. Bankex increased 13 points, Capital Goods rose 42 points and Oil & Gas increased 28 points. Healthcare reduced 123 points. Metals and Auto declined 83 and 93 points, respectively. Mid-cap index increased by 1 point and Small-cap also rose 33 points.
Asian markets traded mixed on Friday. Shanghai increased 0.03 per cent, Hang Seng decreased 0.06 per cent. Nikkei increased 1.03 per cent. European markets were trading on negative sentiments.
Derivative Analysis
Nifty Future closed in the positive at 9130. Going ahead, 9171/9081 will be the immediate support levels.
