Reliance Power witnesses revitalised profits in Q1FY17

Reliance Power has declared its Q1FY17 results on Monday. The company’s revenue has declined by 0.19 per cent to Rs 2679 crore in Q1FY17 as compared to same period in previous financial year. Its EBITDA too has risen by 5.35 per cent to Rs 1142 crore in Q1FY17 on a yearly basis. Reliance Power’s EBITDA margin has expanded by 224 basis points to 42.63 per cent in Q1FY17 as compared to same period in previous fiscal.

The company’s net profit also has boosted by 12.21 per cent to Rs 340 crore in Q1FY17 on a yearly basis. Its net profit margin has expanded by 143 basis points to 12.71 per cent in Q1FY17 as compared to same period in previous financial year.

The company has a portfolio of power projects in the private sector based on coal, gas, hydro and renewable energy with an operating portfolio of 5945 megawatts. Reliance Power’s Rosa Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh has generated 2072 million units, operating at availability of 103 per cent. The Butibori Power Plant in Maharashtra has generated 1116 million units, operating at availability of 103 per cent.

On September 12, the share price of Reliance Power declined by 4.77 per cent on bourses; and closed at Rs 51.5 on an intraday basis.
