Unichem, SJVN and Aarti Drugs at 52-week high on share buyback plan

Shares of SJVN, Unichem Laboratories and Aarti Drugs breached their 52-week high on the NSE in the early morning trade on Thursday after these companies announced that their respective boards will meet on Monday, January 8, 2018 to consider a share buyback proposal.

Aarti Drugs, which manufactures bulk drugs and chemicals, hit a 52-week high of Rs. 744.0 on NSE. The company did not specify the size of share buyback in its BSE filing. At 11:42 hrs, Aarti Drugs was trading at a share price of Rs 734.0, up Rs 34, or 3.67 per cent on the NSE. The stock attracted a traded volume of 1,08,144 shares on NSE.

SVJN is a state-owned electric utilities company. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs. 39.90 per share on NSE. The stock witnessed more than usual volumes. On the NSE, 1.3 crore SJVN shares got traded in the counter so far, compared with average daily volumes of 14 lakh shares in the last 5 trading days. At 11:51 hrs, SVJN was trading at Rs.38.75 per share, up Rs.4.30, or 12.48 per cent on NSE.

Unichem Laboratories, one of India's oldest and largest pharmaceutical company, hit a 52 week high of Rs. 354 on NSE. At 11:56 hrs, Unichem was trading at Rs.347.30 per share, up Rs.14.70, or 4.42 per cent on NSE.
