Blue Star set to widen its footprint in commercial refrigeration segment

To help a lending hand to the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, Blue Star Limited has announced the launch of a new range of commercial refrigeration products & solutions, which are suitable for storing vaccines.

Blue Star has around 60 to 70 per cent share in the pharmaceutical and healthcare segments in its addressed product categories. The company has been witnessing a boost in demand post-COVID in these two sectors. The new range of products introduced comprises specifically designed, temperature-controlled refrigerators & transporters, which are essential for building a well-integrated ecosystem for vaccine distribution in India. It Includes:

Ice-lined refrigerators (+2°C to +8°C): They are ideal for vaccination programmes as they can maintain the desired temperature up to 48 hours or more without power along with ensuring low spoilage of vaccine due to power cuts.

Vaccine transporters (+8°C to -20°C): They are suitable for the transport of vaccine to remote areas of the country as they have the capability to maintain low temperatures while in transit by working as a battery of any four-wheel vehicle.

The company has also launched new & innovative products for ensuring hygiene, which include ‘Touchless Storage Water Coolers’ to dispense water merely by sensing the movement near the tap. The other one is ‘Softpush Bottled Water Dispensers’, which would allow dispensing water only with a slight push.

Meanwhile, the company has manufacturing facilities at Wada and Ahmedabad, which is dedicated to manufacturing a wide range of commercial refrigeration products. In order to leverage the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, the company with Capex of around Rs 130 crore is in the process of setting up a new plant at its existing facility at Wada, which will help the company to expand its manufacturing capacity and cater to the rising demand for commercial refrigeration products.

On Thursday, the share of Blue Star Limited, an air conditioning & commercial refrigeration company was trading at Rs 826.45 at 11.50 am, which is 1.48 per cent up on BSE.
