SEA OF OPPORTUNITY

Dredging Corporation: Dredging Corporation is India’s only public sector enterprise (PSE) primarily engaged in dredging activity. The company has recorded its highest profit after tax in last eight years posting Rs 7,967 lakh from a turnover of Rs 67,622 lakh. The company has executed works at ports and projects at Kolkata, Haldia, Murmugao, Visakhapatnam, Cochin, Ennore, Dhabol, and Chennai during the year. With huge port projects in the offing and Dredging Corporation intends to play an important role in implementation of projects like ‘Jal Vikas Marg’ and ‘Sagarmala’. This stock could see a decent upside from current levels.

WHEELING TO PROSPERITY

Mahindra and Mahindra: India’s largest utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra reported overall growth of 11 per cent in sales during the month of May, 2016. The company has recently launched long awaited electric version of their compact sedan Verito, ‘e-Verito’. With issues like environmental degradation, pollution related challenges and climate change switching to electric cars is the need of hour along with this trigger another positive trigger is the above normal rainfall forecast by weather forecaster; advance estimate of Rabi crop production and the increase in MSP will boost agri income and positively impact the demand going forward.

ENGINEERING GROWTH

Engineers India: Engineers India reported dull set of numbers in the last quarter due to tepid execution in the turnkey division and some one-off costs that resulted in lower margins. Post that, the stock saw a sell-off. However, recently the stock has seen spurt in the volume along with rise in the price which indicates there is renewed buying interest in the stock. As per sources, the upward movement in the stock is likely to continue and hence, short term traders can initiate a long position in the stock.

SHOW TIME

PVR: India’s leading multiplex operator PVR, the multiplex firm announced it has closed the DT Cinemas deal. Under the revised terms and as per the source the deal closure is good news for the stock. PVR’s average ticket price during the March quarter had seen a spurt of 8.3 per cent from a year earlier. With the big releases lined up in the coming weeks the stock will be in action. Hence, it’s a good bet for short term.
