The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) estimated the cost of its Gottigere- Nagawara Metro line to go as up as Rs 11,014 crore. BMRCL is likely to divide the construction of this 21.25km line, running through the heart of the city, into five packages. The metro line will scale along the Bannergatta Road to the Swagath Road, going underground for 13.79 km near the Sagar Hospital near fire station. Dairy Circle, Micro Industries, Brigade Road, MG Road are among other places from where the underground trail will pass through.
In this pursuit, the government also invited bids for the elevation of the stations and other structures on the Gottigere Nagawara route, expected to cost Rs 575.52 crore. The stations will likely be elevated near IIMB, JP Nagar 4th phase, Swagath road cross, Hulimavu and Gottigere.
For funding the humongous expenditure, the corporation is speculated to raise loans from the European Investment Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, besides the central and state government's equity participation.
Meanwhile, the construction of the metro line to the airport is also dependent on the construction of the Gottigere-Nagawara route, as the government plans to extend the metro line of the Nagawara route until the airport.
