BSE signs MoU with ESC to create awareness about benefits of listing among ICT SMEs & Startups

BSE Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) to create awareness about benefits of listing among ICT SMEs & Startups of the country. 

Through this MoU, ESC shall utilise its pan India network of electronics & IT exporters and evaluate the small & medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as startups amongst these for listing on BSE SME & Startup Exchange. ESC shall also assist in sensitising its investor network for investing in SMEs listed on BSE SME Exchange. Besides, as a joint effort, BSE and ESC shall collectively host joint roadshows & events across India to create awareness as well as promote the listing of SMEs & startups on BSE SME & Startup exchange. 

ESC is an organisation sponsored by the Government of India with a mandate to promote the export of information & communications technology (ICT) sector from the country and work as a bridge between the government and the industry on policy/promotional matters. With a strong membership of over 2,300 ICT exporters covering the entire gamut of the electronics and IT industry in the areas like consumer electronics, components, instrumentation, telecommunications, computer hardware & peripherals, computer software and IT-enabled services. 

BSE became the first stock exchange to get approval from SEBI and had launched its SME platform on March 13, 2012. So far, 337 companies listed on BSE SME platform have raised Rs 3,497.52 crore from the market and the total market capitalisation of 337 companies as of May 25, 2021 is Rs 26,314 crore. Out of which, 99 companies are migrated to BSE mainboard. BSE is the market leader in this segment with a market share of 61 per cent. 

On Tuesday, the stock of BSE Ltd was trading 4.6 per cent lower, making an intraday low of Rs 917.55 from its previous close of Rs 962.20 on NSE.
