Escorts, the leader in the agri-machinery segment, posted a de-growth of 2.6 per cent YoY in the total sales for May 2021. This growth on a YoY basis was possible as the base was lower last year in May, led by the nationwide lockdown imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite localised lockdowns led by the second wave, the companies managed to deliver decent growth on a YoY basis. However, as compared to March & April 2021, a sharp decline in production and sales of the automakers was observed.
