Lupin launches chatbot for patients
Lupin launched a chatbot named ANYA which is specifically designed with a view of providing medically verified information to resolve queries relating to health concerns of patients. ANYA is the first chatbot of its kind which creates awareness about diseases like diabetes.
The number of diabetes cases in India stood at 72 million in 2017 and the figure is expected to increase two-fold to 134 million by 2025. Thus, the patient-friendly chatbot will be very useful for managing the health of modern-day patients who are proficient in technological advancements and like to keep abreast of their health conditions.
The purpose of ANYA is to bridge the gap created by the lack of trusted and comprehensive information pertaining to disease-management. Apart from creating awareness, the AI-based chatbot will assist doctors in debunking the myths associated with various therapies.
Lupin is expecting to enhance access to healthcare in rural areas by means of such digital healthcare platforms. ANYA will by no means replace a proper diagnosis by a certified medical practitioner; however, it will act as a trusted information provider.
On Thursday, the shares of Lupin closed at Rs. 850.80 per share, up 0.10 per cent.
