Falling oil price and reduction of import duty of ATF helped oil marketing companies (OMC) and airline stocks resist the pressure of sell-off in Thursday's trade. In the international market, Brent crude futures were trading at US$ 81.42 per barrel, down 2.01 per cent for Dec 2018 contracts.

The markets on October 11, 2018 opened gap down. BSE Sensex is trading at 34,283.57, down by 477.32 points and the Nifty is trading at 10,310.90, down by 149.20 points. 

The benchmark Indian indices reacted sharply to the sell-off in the US markets opening gap-down on Thursday morning. BSE Sensex opened at 34,063 level down by 2 per cent, while Nifty50 fell by over 2.7 per cent and opened at 10,192 level.
