Tata Communications to incorporate Cisco Webex into global voice platform

Tata Communications announced on Wednesday that it has integrated Cisco Webex Calling with its industry-leading global voice platform, thus enabling it to deliver the full suite of Cisco Webex collaboration and customer experience solutions, from its Global SIP Connect platform, in order to support multinational organisations.

Cisco Webex Calling by Tata Communications brings together the sophisticated features of Webex platform. This combination brings unparalleled calling, messaging, and collaboration along with customer experience tools to global businesses, on one platform, thus vastly improving on its product portfolio made available to its customers.

Prior to the COVID-19 crisis, it was predicted that licences for cloud calling would grow 96 per cent by 2024, with more than 53,000,000 new users adopting cloud calling services between 2019 and 2024. The COVID-19 crisis has accelerated this growth as organisations took to the cloud to drive digital transformation and support remote working on a much larger scale.

Speaking on the announcement, Peter Quinlan, Vice President, Business Collaboration of Tata Communications said, “With the addition of Webex Calling to our portfolio, the company will make it easy for enterprises to leverage Cisco’s cloud collaboration capability with its own enterprise voice services to deliver a reliable, scalable collaboration experience with global reach.”

On Wednesday, the stock of Tata Communications closed at Rs 907.50 per share, up by 3.30 per cent or Rs 28.95 per share on BSE, against a 0.22 per cent gain in the benchmark index. The 52-week high is recorded at Rs 915 and the 52-week low is Rs 205.70 on BSE.
