Watch out for these Penny Stocks locked in the upper circuit on July 21

The Sensex started the trading session on a lower note, declining by 0.59 per cent, while the Nifty also opened lower by 0.68 per cent

Pre-market scenario: On Thursday, the stock market witnessed mixed results. While the Dow continued its upward trend for a ninth consecutive day, primarily fueled by gains in Johnson & Johnson, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq experienced declines. Tesla and Netflix reported disappointing results, causing their shares to plummet by 9.74 per cent and 8.41 per cent, respectively. Consequently, the S&P 500 saw a decline of 0.68 per cent, and the Nasdaq suffered a significant drop of 2.05 per cent. However, the Dow managed to rise by 0.47 per cent despite the overall market downturn.

At 9:30 AM, The Sensex started the trading session on a lower note, declining by 0.59 per cent, while the Nifty also opened lower by 0.68 per cent.

Within the market segments, the Nifty Midcap witnessed a decrease of 0.75 per cent, while the Nifty Small-Cap managed to record a gain of 0.3 per cent.

Among the sectoral indices, Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Bank, and Nifty Financial Services were among the Top Gainers, showing positive performance. On the other hand, Nifty IT, Nifty Metal, and Nifty Realty were among the Top Losers, exhibiting weaker trends.

Within the Nifty 50 index, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Kotak Bank, and State Bank of India (SBI) were the top gainers, while Infosys, Tech Mahindra, and HCL Technologies were the top losers.

In terms of broader market sentiment, around 945 stocks advanced, while 857 stocks declined, indicating a slightly positive overall sentiment in the market.

On July 20, foreign institutional investors (FII) bought shares worth Rs 3,370.90 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 193.02 crore.
