December 2019: Know more about stocks attracting fund managers

In the month of December 2019, the financial sector gained over other sectors to be on the top of the fund managers’ buying list, followed by FMCG, automobile, ancillaries, infrastructure and consumer durables sector.

So, if we look at the above table then, we can see that in the month of December 2019, the infrastructure sector has come in the top 5 sector preference of the fund manager with a total approximate buying of Rs 1,304.92 crore. In the infrastructure sector also, Larsen & Toubro Ltd have made their way to the top 5 buys with an approximate buying of Rs 1,133.36 crore.

If we look at the total sector-wise buying done in the month of December 2019 then, the financials have been on the top followed by FMCG, automobile, ancillaries, infrastructure and consumer durables sector with an approximate buying of Rs 4,296.54 crore, Rs 1,626.46 crore, Rs 1,472.14 crore, Rs 1,304.92 and Rs 1,161.89 crore, respectively.

If we look at the total buying done in the month of December 2019 market cap-wise then, the large-cap is at the top, followed by mid-cap and small-cap with an approximate buying of Rs 8,633.79 crore, Rs 4,695.37 crore and Rs 2,262.16 crore, respectively.

The intention of the above analysis is only for the purpose of understanding the activity of mutual funds and gauging the fund managers’ approach and by no means, it’s a recommendation to buy or sell. It is always advisable to have a financial plan in place, which must be followed with discipline and investments in mutual funds, being made to be based on your individual risk assessment.
