Five stocks witnessing short covering

Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.

On June 24, the domestic benchmark indices opened on a positive note. At 1.30 pm, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were seen trading in the green zone at 52,588.98 and 15,649.25 levels, climbing 0.62 per cent & 0.60 per cent, respectively.

M&M, Bajaj Finance, and Hindustan Unilever emerged as the top gainers of today's session, which soared 3.05 per cent, 2.62 per cent & 2.50 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, and HCL Technologies turned out to be the top losers, which slumped 1.39 per cent, 1.31 per cent & 1.01 per cent, respectively.
