Five stocks witnessing short covering

Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.

The equity markets opened the last trading session of the week on a pleasant note and continued trading in the green zone at 12.42 pm. Sensex, as well as Nifty, rose 0.24 per cent & 0.19 per cent to be at 59,902.65 and 17,770.00 levels, respectively. 

Reliance, NTPC, and Power Grid emerged as the top gainers of today's session, which jumped 2.49 per cent, 1.82 per cent & 1.68 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, and ICICI Bank turned out to be the top losers, which plummeted 2.74 per cent, 2.04 per cent & 1.97 per cent, respectively.
