Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex & Nifty opened in the green zone on Tuesday and even around noon, both were trading with positive gains. At 12.08 pm, Sensex was trading up by 0.64 per cent at 62,159.36 levels while Nifty was at 18,568.35, up by 0.49 per cent.
Tech Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, and Bajaj Finserv turned out to be the top three gainers today, which surged 4.50 per cent, 3.34 per cent & 2.72 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top three losers included ITC, UltraTech Cement, and Titan, which plunged 4.59 per cent, 2.58 per cent & 2.33 per cent, respectively.
