Market wrap: Benchmark indices close on a mixed note with Nifty Pharma among the top gainers!

On June 23, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth Rs 344.81 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 684.01 crore.

Market Update at 3:30 PM: Sensex and Nifty close on a mixed note.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap close higher by 0.92 per cent and 0.62 per cent respectively.

India VIX surged by 1.33 per cent.

Nifty Pharma, Nifty Metal and Nifty Auto were among the top gainers while Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Media and Nifty Energy were among the top losers.

Cipla, Adani Enterprises and Hero Motocorp were among the top gainers while Power Grid, Reliance and TCS were among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1083 stocks were advancing as against to 894 stocks that were declining. Thus, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

Market Update at 2:20 PM: Sensex trades lower while Nifty trades flat.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap trade higher by 0.51 per cent and 0.18 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged by 3.2 per cent.

Nifty Pharma, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Auto are among the top gainers while Nifty Financial Services, Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Energy are among the top losers.

Tata Consumer Products, Cipla and Adani Enterprises are among the top gainers while NTPC, Reliance and Power Grid are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1050 stocks are advancing as against to 914 stocks that are declining. Thus, indicating a slight positive sentiment in the broader market.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap trade higher by 0.45 per cent and 0.32 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged by 1.96 per cent.

European markets are expected to open with gains on Monday, indicating a potential recovery after a previous downturn.

Nifty Pharma, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Auto are among the top gainers while Nifty Media, Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Energy are among the top losers.

About 1315 stocks are advancing as against to 553 stocks that are declining. Thus, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market update at 8:20 AM: US Stock futures were steady on Sunday evening as Wall Street awaited signs of continued momentum in the market rally for the final week of June. Dow Jones futures edged up 0.2 per cent, while S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures rose around 0.2 per cent.

In futures trading, the Dollar index gained 0.47 per cent at 102.87, while the value of one dollar remained close to Rs 81.99. On Friday, oil prices declined, with Brent crude settling down 0.39 per cent at $73.85 per barrel.

On June 23, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth Rs 344.81 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 684.01 crore.

On Monday, the market is expected to open with a slight decline as indicated by the SGX Nifty, which shows a negative start for the benchmark indices with a 60-point loss. The session began at 18,827 points. During early trade on June 26, SGX futures reached a high of 18,876.

Stocks that banned for trading in the F&O segment on June 26, 2023, are HAL, Hindcopper, L&T Finance Holdings, PNB and RBL Bank.
