Overnight Digest: Stocks to keep an eye on January 23!

Watch out for these large-cap stocks in Monday’s trading session!

The Indian headline indices traded flat throughout the session but fell sharply at the close, mainly due to heavy losses in the telecommunications, commodity and consumer durables sectors. With gains of nearly half a per cent, BSE Utilities and BSE Power emerged as the top gaining sectors. The BSE Sensex fell 0.39 per cent to 60,621 level at the close. The Nifty 50 index lost 0.44 per cent to a level of 18,027.  

Watch out for these Large-Cap stocks in Monday’s trading session -  

Bharat Heavy Electricals - Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been awarded a contract for the renovation and modernization (R&M) of steam turbines at Gujarat's Ukai Thermal Power Station despite fierce competition from other bidders. Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited has placed an order with BHEL that is estimated to be worth Rs 300 crore. Shares ended the Friday’s trading session over 1 per cent higher.  

L&T Technology Services - A leading global pure-play engineering services provider announced that it has been chosen as a strategic engineering partner by Airbus to provide advanced engineering capabilities and digital manufacturing services under a multi-year contract. Due to aggressive selling, shares tumbled by almost 5 per cent.  

Tata Consultancy Services - The business announced that Bombardier, a global leader in aviation, had chosen it as a strategic partner to accelerate its digital transformation and promote innovation. The session ended with shares down 0.32 per cent.
