Jupiter Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd. (JEM), the electric commercial vehicle arm of Jupiter Wagons Ltd., has officially opened its first showroom in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, marking a significant step in its pan-India expansion strategy. This launch introduces their 1.05-ton 4-wheeler electric light commercial vehicle (eLCV), the JEM TEZ, into one of India's most dynamic urban logistics markets. The showroom functions as a comprehensive experience centre, providing sales consultations, service support, financing assistance and opportunities for customers to test drive the JEM TEZ and interact with product specialists. This move aims to bolster India's transition towards sustainable transportation by offering a purpose-built solution for the rapidly evolving last-mile delivery ecosystem.
The JEM TEZ is designed for urban logistics, boasting a certified range of over 190 km, an 80kW peak motor power, 23% gradeability and a 1.05-ton payload capacity. Its features ensure high performance, low operating costs and enhanced reliability, making it ideal for intra-city freight movement, last-mile delivery and FMCG distribution. Bengaluru was chosen as the launch market due to its prominence as a logistics and technology hub with a strong existing EV ecosystem. JEM is also building an integrated EV value chain through partnerships for charging networks, financing solutions and after-sales services, including the "JEM Udaan" program for business assistance. Furthermore, to support its growth, JEM recently inaugurated a 2.5-acre manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Indore, with an annual production capacity of 8,000–10,000 e-LCVs, with plans for future expansion. JEM's national strategy involves expanding into other key EV markets, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Chennai.
