Exxaro Tiles Limited, a Small-Cap Indian company known for manufacturing vitrified and glazed tiles, has successfully installed a 5 Megawatt (MW) DC solar power project in Gorol, Idar, Gujarat. This renewable energy initiative is aligned with the company’s long-term focus on energy efficiency and sustainability. The solar plant is expected to generate annual savings of approximately Rs 5.67 crore in electricity costs for its Talod manufacturing facility.
The land for the project, located at Block No. 255 & 891, Village: Gorol, Taluka: Idar, District: Sabarkantha, Gujarat, has been secured on lease for a period of 25 years and 4 months. The project is designed to meet the electricity demand of the Talod unit through captive consumption. With the Talod facility consuming nearly 21 million units annually at an average energy cost of Rs 9 per unit, the shift to solar energy is projected to reduce energy expenses by an estimated 30 per cent.

Mr. Mukeshkumar B. Patel, Managing Director of Exxaro Tiles, noted that this project marks a key milestone in aligning the company’s operations with global environmental standards. He added that the initiative strengthens cost-efficiency and reflects their commitment to clean energy and environmental responsibility.
Exxaro Tiles operates two manufacturing facilities in Gujarat—at Talod in Sabarkantha and Padra in Vadodara—with a combined installed capacity of 1,32,00,000 square meters per annum. It serves diverse sectors, including residential, commercial, hospitality, and institutional markets, through a pan-India dealer network of over 2,000 and six display centers. The company also exports to more than 15 countries, such as the United States, Canada, Gulf countries, and Vietnam.
