Solid positive breakout is emerging in these stocks; do you own them?

Nifty 50 began higher, but it is expected to follow Wall Street's major futures indices. In this post, we have identified top stocks that are witnessing a solid positive breakout.

Compared to its previous closing of 17,844.6, the Nifty 50 began higher on Tuesday at 17,905.8. This was despite headwinds witnessed in leading Wall Street indices futures as well as the mixed performance of Asian counterparts. Monday was a holiday in the United States on the account of President's Day, therefore the markets were closed. Nevertheless, its futures indices were trading in the negative ahead of the release of the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) and existing home sales data.

At the time of writing, Nasdaq 100 futures plunged 0.16 per cent, Dow Jones futures fell 0.13 per cent, and S&P 500 futures dipped 0.15 per cent. Asian market indices performed mixed in response to global trends. Apart from Japan's Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng, all other indices were trading in green.

Nifty 50 was trading at 17,915.8 at 10:25 a.m., up 71.2 points or 0.4 per cent. Frontline indices, on the other hand, outperformed broader market indices. Nifty Mid-Cap 100 index gained 0.23 per cent, while Nifty Small-Cap 100 index climbed 0.09 per cent.

The advance-decline ratio on the BSE was favourable, with 1672 stocks rising, 1372 falling, and 187 staying unchanged. Except for PSU banks, realty, IT and media, all other sectors are trading in the green.

FIIs were net sellers, while DIIs were net purchasers, according to statistics as of February 20. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold Rs 158.95 crore worth of shares. DIIs (domestic institutional investors) invested Rs 86.23 crore in shares.
