Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on August 16

The Consumer Price Index inflation data for India came out better at 6.71 per cent, reflecting the effects of the rate hike done by RBI in May 2022. The CPI inflation peaked in April 2022 at 7.79 per cent.

At 11.15 am on Tuesday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 are trading higher on the bourses as India's CPI inflation data came out better than expected by the economists.

The shares in Asia Pacific markets are giving mixed reactions after economic data was released by China and India. Shanghai Composite is trading higher by 0.15 per cent after Chinese Government lowered its one-year loan rate and repo rate by 10 basis points on Monday. 

Following the rally on Monday in the US markets,  Nasdaq Composite ended higher by 0.62 per cent while S&P 500 index gained 0.40 per cent.

Currently, Sensex is at 59,910.80, up by 448.02 points or 0.75 per cent whereas Nifty 50 is at 17,833.90, up by 135.75 points or 0.77 per cent. Meanwhile, Nifty Bank is up by 0.82 per cent at 39,361.80 level.  

The FIIs continued their buying streak in the domestic markets and bought equity worth Rs 3,040.46 crore on Friday (August 12) while the DIIs sold equity of Rs 839.45 crore.   

Crude oil is trading at $88.87 per barrel whereas the 10-year US Treasury yield is at 2.77 per cent.    

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are HDFC Life Insurance Company, Adani Ports, Eicher Motors, Maruti Suzuki, and SBI Life Insurance Company. Meanwhile, the Top Losers pulling down the index are Grasim Industries, ONGC, Hindalco Industries, SBI, and Bharti Airtel.    

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 28,144.79 level, up by 0.86 per cent. The top gainers in the pack include DFM Foods, UTI Asset Management Company, Career Point, Repco Home, and Arman Financial Services. Each of these stocks gained more than 13 per cent. Similarly, the top losers are Voltamp Transformers, Navkar Corporation, Mangalam Organics, Sree Rayalaseema Hi-Strength Hypo, and Himatsingka Seide.  

On the sectoral front, BSE Auto, BSE Realty, BSE FMCG, and BSE Private Bank are trading in the green, climbing 1.85 per cent, 1.55 per cent, 1.41 per cent & 1.06 per cent, respectively. Besides, only BSE Metal is trading in the red.
