Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on August 19

The FIIs are retracting from the domestic markets and have sold equity worth Rs 1,706 crore on Thursday (August 18) while the DIIs have bought a net of Rs 470.79 crore.     

 At 11 am on Friday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 are trading flat, owing to a quiet trading session in the US market.   

The Asia Pacific markets were also giving a mixed reaction, on the weaker side, as Wall Street is trying to retain its positive rally throughout the week. Japanese Nikkei is trading lower by 0.01 per cent while China’s Shanghai Composite is also down by 0.16 per cent.  

The US equity indices such as Dow Jones and S&P 500 closed flat at 0.06 per cent & 0.23 per cent, respectively.  

Sensex is trading at 60,084.44, down by 213.56 points or 0.35 per cent whereas Nifty 50 is at 17,877.75, down by 78.75 points or 0.44 per cent. Nifty Bank is also down by 0.97 per cent at the 39,271.80 level.

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are Adani Ports, Larsen & Toubro, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, and Wipro. Meanwhile, the Top Losers pulling down the index are IndusInd Bank, BPCL, Power Grid Corporation of India, Apollo Hospitals, and Bajaj Finserv.  

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 28,411.59, down by 0.09 per cent. The top gainers in the pack were Medicamen Biotech (17.94 per cent), Repco Home Finance (12 per cent), Kanchi Karpooram, Forbes & Company, and Precision Wires (9.9 per cent).  

On the sectoral front, only BSE Utilities, BSE IT, and BSE Power are trading higher by a per cent each.
