Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on August 26

The FIIs are investing in the domestic markets and have bought equity worth Rs 369.06 crore on Thursday (August 25) while the DIIs sold equity for a net worth of Rs 334.31 crore.   

At 12.30 pm on Thursday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading higher as investors, all over the world, are eyeing Fed Chairman Jerome Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole Meet today. 

Shanghai Composite was trading lower by just 0.40 per cent while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index gained 0.67 per cent, and Japan’s Nikkei was trading up by 0.57 per cent.  

The US equity indices i.e. Dow Jones and S&P 500 settled higher ahead of the symposium by 0.98 per cent & 1.41 per cent, respectively.  

Sensex is seen recovering at 59,062.85, up by 288.13 points or 0.49 per cent while Nifty 50 is at 17,620.35, up by 99.85 points or 0.57 per cent. Nifty Bank is also up by 0.59 per cent at the 39,179.80 level.

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are Titan Company, Hindalco Industries, Tata Motors, SBI Life Insurance Company, and Tata Steel. Meanwhile, the Top Losers pulling down the index are Eicher Motors, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, and Reliance Industries.  

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 28,494.16, up by 0.63 per cent. The top gainers in the pack were Surya Roshni (20 per cent), Uniphos Enterprises (12.8 per cent), Mazagon Dockyard Shipbuilders (12.28 per cent), Shivalik Rasayan (10.41 per cent),  Medicamen Biotech (10 per cent), and Kingfa Science and Technology (India).

The stocks of IT, consumer durables, capital goods, metal, power & PSU companies are trading higher by more than a per cent each whereas only private banks and telecom stocks are lagging on the bourses today.
