The session in the stock market was characterized by strong volatility, with indices closing on a weaker note despite fresh buying interest in real estate stocks

Oil and gas, Auto, and Bank stocks fell, while pharma index ended the day in the green.

Indian stocks opened 2 per cent lower on Monday with the rupee plunging to a new low of 78.28 per dollar.  

In the final hour of the trading session, the market witnessed massive purchasing. All NSE sectoral indices ended in the green with the exception of Nifty Metal and PSU banking indices.  

The market closed in the green, putting an end to the two-day losing streak. The major gaining sectors today on BSE were oil & gas, information technology, and metal while auto & financial services sectors lost the most amongst all.

On Monday, the headline equity indices i.e. Sensex and Nifty ended higher by almost 2 per cent.

The indices soared, thanks to the gains in the index heavyweight - Reliance Industries and HDFC twins.

On Tuesday, the headline equity indices i.e. Sensex and Nifty ended on a lower note after gaining almost 0.50 per cent in the afternoon session.  The European markets have opened in the green whereas the Rupee crossed the Rs 77 per dollar mark and is trading at Rs 77.33.
